Marriages of most female gospel acts are unsuccessful because the devil operates through their husbands – Akua Emelia

Gospel sensation Akua Emelia believes the devil gets to destroy marriages of female gospel acts in the industry through their husbands.

Speaking on Hitz FM’s ‘This Is Gospel’ show today, the songstress stated that husbands of these female acts at some points of the successes of their wives allow themselves to be used by the devil to distract them, leading to sad splits.

“Whenever these husbands give themselves away, the spirituality aspect of these marriages gets lost, and to the best of my knowledge, nothing stands firm in this world without the spirit of God,” she told host Franky 5.

She added that aside from the spiritual aspect of the marriage being a problem, the eventual attitudinal change in these female gospel acts when they become successful causes some of these breakups.

“Sometimes, these marriages had been in existence before these women became famous; sometimes, the women feel their husbands are below their standards and begin to disrespect them.

Unfortunately, not all men can be able to handle these attitudes and, you know that can be a problem which may eventually lead to constant arguments in the marriage,” she stated.

She however established why she thinks the men are most of the time behind some of these splits, “Sometimes the husbands themselves become very jealous of their wives’ successes and develop a lot of jealousy and this lets me believe that men are the main causes.”

The Media Excel signee pleaded with men who overreact in some of these cases and eventually seize all achievements they coined with these women over a period of these marriages.

An example of such marriage is that of songstress of Joyce Blessing, whose husband eventually took away everything with him when they split including her social media handles.

When asked whether she was ready to receive backlashes from the general public following her comments, the ‘Famesie’ hitmaker admitted she was ready.

“I am ready for them because I can contain and conquer anything that comes my way; either I will retaliate or not but trust me, you will never conquer me.”

One would have thought, if an anointed and soul-moving gospel singer marries a pastor, life becomes a “rosy” affair.

It is therefore surprising when such marriages break down easily despite their knowledge in the word of God, that is, the numerous Bible verses speaking against divorce (Matthew 5:31-32, Mark 10:2-12, Luke 16:18, 1 Corinthians 7:39, etc.)

In Ghana, several highly gifted gospel musicians have had their marriages “falling on rocks” due to various reasons best known to themselves.

Some of which include; Mrs Gifty Adorye, Obaapa Christy, Esther smith, Diana Hopeson, Agnes Opoku-Agyemang amongst others.

Currently, Akua Emelia is topping charts with her single ‘Famesie’ which features gospel act Francis Amo.
